Firstly, this is not my own work. All I did was crop this photo of a conversation between half a dozen strangers on a Facebook comment thread. It just made me laugh. A lot. I thought you might appreciate it.

Good afternoon all!
Just a quick one. I’ve noticed that, despite my followers growing a little on here, my Facebook and Twitter pages are pretty dead. Now, if we want an audience for our writing, having a better following on Twitter and Facebook is important. I know that having Facebook “likes” isn’t the be all and end all (see my post Why I’ll Never Be Famous) but a social media presence can be important for aspiring writers.

On Twitter I will follow you back.

If you comment on this post to let me know that you’ve liked it and provide a link to your writing page then I shall like you back.
Hope we can all benefit mutually from this.
Just a short thought; why the hell are there several posts a day in my newsfeed on Facebook
‘Like to show you care for this dying child’
‘Share this if you hate cancer, keep scrolling if you don’t care’
‘Like if you support our troops’
Seriously. Just…c’mon. I mean if there was even a chance that the issue in question was divisive or thought provoking then maybe I would give a shit. There is nobody in their right mind who sincerely supports the mindless biological mutation of cancer causing cells.
I’ve been blogging for about six months now so I thought now would be a good time to write a little update.
Firstly, a huge thanks to anybody who has read anything on here. As a writer, I write because I feel that I have to, it is an urge and this is my outlet for that urge. It is a wonderful ancillary bonus if anybody else reads or enjoys my ramblings.
Secondly, Iridescentfox Blog now has
a Facebook page:
Catchy, but apparently I need a few more likes for a vanity url
and a Twitter feed:
It’s my personal Twitter but will be mostly for writing
So feel free to “Like” and “Follow” if you are that way inclined.
I realise that it has been a while since I last wrote one of my little ranting nonfiction blogs so I might smash one of those out soon. I’m currently working on two novels now (at a pace a little slower than continental drift), so I might post a few ideas from those.
Seraca I is an early draft of an opening to one of them:
In case you missed them I also posted two brand new poems last week
Stay Your Own Road
Anyway, new material coming soon. Good night England, good morning world.
